National Clean Air Day
On the occasion of January 19, recognized in Iran as National Clean Air Day, the Secretariat of the First International Congress of Vaccine and Vaccination (ICVV) highlights the importance of environmental health as an integral component of the One Health framework.
Clean air is a critical determinant of public health, influencing respiratory well-being, susceptibility to infectious diseases, and the overall resilience of communities. Numerous scientific studies underscore that air pollution can increase the severity of respiratory infections, compromise immune function, and heighten the burden of health challenges across populations.
ICVV emphasizes that protecting air quality is closely linked to broader strategies in disease prevention, vaccination programs, and public-health preparedness. Ensuring clean and healthy environments strengthens the effectiveness of long-term health interventions and supports sustainable scientific and medical progress.
"Marking this day, the ICVV Secretariat reaffirms its commitment to advancing research, promoting environmental awareness, and encouraging interdisciplinary collaboration aimed at safeguarding both human and animal health."
