RAZI-COV PARS Highlights Iran’s Contribution to the Global Conversation on Next-Generation Mucosal Vaccines
Tehran – The recombinant RAZI-COV PARS COVID-19 vaccine, developed at the Razi Vaccine and Serum Research Institute, has been highlighted in recent scientific reviews addressing mucosal vaccines and emerging strategies for next-generation vaccination.
RAZI-COV PARS is based on a recombinant Spike protein platform and incorporates a combined intramuscular and intranasal administration strategy, representing an approach aimed not only at inducing systemic immunity but also at enhancing immune responses at mucosal surfaces of the respiratory tract.
Mucosal vaccination has gained increasing attention in recent years as an important direction in next-generation vaccine development. By targeting immune responses at the sites where respiratory pathogens enter the body, mucosal vaccine strategies may offer complementary advantages to conventional systemic vaccination approaches. The inclusion of RAZI-COV PARS in scientific discussions in this field highlights the relevance of the technological experience developed in Iran.
