“One Health and Biosecurity: The Need for a National Vaccine Ecosystem” Discussed on Keshik-e Salamat

Dr. Seyed Reza Banihashemi, Special Representative of the President for the National Vaccine Ecosystem, Scientific Secretary of the First International Congress of Vaccine and Vaccination (ICVV 2026), and Head of Research and Development at the Razi Vaccine and Serum Research Institute, appeared on the live television program Keshik-e Salamat to discuss the strategic importance of establishing and strengthening a coordinated national vaccine ecosystem.
Broadcast with a focus on “One Health and Biosecurity,” the program addressed key issues including the strategic role of vaccines in national biosecurity, the need for greater collaboration among stakeholders across the vaccine ecosystem, and the importance of an integrated framework for vaccine research, innovation, development, and production.
Dr. Banihashemi emphasized the One Health approach, highlighting the interconnectedness of human health, animal health, and environmental health. He underlined the importance of developing an integrated vaccine ecosystem as a strategic requirement for strengthening national preparedness against emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases and biological threats.
He also highlighted the role of universities, research institutions, industry, knowledge-based companies, and policymakers in building a resilient vaccine ecosystem, stressing the need to move beyond fragmented activities toward greater national coordination, networking, and collaboration among stakeholders.
These priorities are closely aligned with the central vision of the First International Congress of Vaccine and Vaccination (ICVV 2026), held under the theme:
“One Health; United Pioneers via an Innovative Vaccine Ecosystem for a Safe Future.”
The congress aims to provide a platform for scientific and strategic dialogue and collaboration among researchers, healthcare professionals, policymakers, industry leaders, technology companies, and other stakeholders across the national and international vaccine ecosystem.
The participation of the Scientific Secretary of ICVV 2026 in national television and his discussion of One Health, biosecurity,  and the national vaccine ecosystem further highlight the strategic importance of these concepts in advancing vaccine science, technology, innovation, and preparedness.
